About my Paintings

My paintings are abstract and non-compositional.  They are about visual order,  positive and negative space and colour relationships.  Colour defines the space and relationship, which is balanced in overall unity.

The challenge of painting is holding ideas together on the surface whilst managing the tension between the various elements jockeying for position.  I want my paintings to give the feeling something is happening behind and beyond the surface.
